When Team Leader, Rhys Davies, met Liam for an appointment at Sarina Russo Job Access, Maryborough, Liam was unsure of his future employment direction.
Together they brainstormed and created an employment pathway plan, involving weekly appointments and intensive employer marketing. Liam’s Employability Skills Training (EST) requirements were discussed and he decided to apply for an apprenticeship or enrol with the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Liam could not wait to get working, so in the interim he started a job at a local restaurant, Wharf 71, to assist with his finances while waiting on his job applications.
When it rains, it pours! While Liam was working at the restaurant he was advised he had made it through to the medical stage for three different apprenticeships while also progressing with the ADF.
Liam now has the world at his feet and has chosen to start a coach building apprenticeship with EDI as an apprentice coach builder which will allow him to stay close to his family.
Rhys and the Sarina Russo Job Access team can’t wait to witness Liam progress through his apprenticeship and provide any necessary post placement support to ensure Liam’s financial independence.
