Costco make the ‘switch' to Sarina Russo

WHEN Costco opens the doors on its long-awaited Ipswich store it marks the end of months of meticulous planning – and signals the start of 54 new jobs for Sarina Russo Job Access jobseekers.

 

Club Demonstration Services (CDS), Costco’s in-house event marketing provider, called in Sarina Russo Ipswich last November to deliver reliable flow of staff and after an initial meeting gave Naomi Duff the daunting task of recruiting over 50 staff.

 

“CDS came to Sarina Russo because their previous provider wasn’t meeting their staffing needs,” Naomi said.

 

“My original brief was to source 80 potential staff and I said, ‘of course we can’ but when the official opening was pushed back we ended up placing 54 staff, 30 of whom were Ipswich jobseekers and one was from our Esk office.”

 

Naomi said the recruitment campaign included Sales Advisers, Team Leaders and an Events Manager.

 

“We started with 206 referrals, 105 were short-listed for interviews, 87 jobseekers turned up for a group interview on April 7 and they are all work ready,” she said.
