FOUR years ago, Albury car lover Jaymes Smith was desperate to pursue his love of all thing’s automobile.
He then walked into Sarina Russo Apprenticeships Albury where he met with our brilliant Melanie Howell and together they hatched a plan to make his dreams a reality.
Last week Jaymes was recognised by his industry peers when he won the GOTAFE World Skills Regional Title.
Employed by Albury Auto Body Repairs, Jaymes will soon complete his spray-painting apprenticeship and his Regional Title award now makes him eligible to compete for the Victorian team at the national titles in August.
According to our brilliant Melanie Howell, Jaymes’ manager Mark Ward said the 22-year-old is simply a star recruit.
“Jaymes just has a real passion for his trade – he is outstanding with his colour and he finishes his work off very nicely every time, he said.”
