International Day of People with Disability, 3 December

IDPwD is a United Nations (UN) day observed internationally. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.

With 4.4 million Australians living with disabilities, IDPwD is a crucial opportunity to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and diverse community. The Australian Government, through the Department of Social Services, funds a national program to promote and raise awareness of this day. The overarching goal is to encourage collective action toward breaking down barriers and fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can fully participate in society. []

The theme for 2023 is ‘United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for, with and by persons with disabilities.’ This theme emphasises the collective responsibility of society to collaborate in making the world more equitable for people with disabilities. []

Sarina Russo Group (SRG) is committed to supporting International Day of People with Disability. The group recognises the significance of creating an inclusive workplace and society that embraces diversity. Through various initiatives, the Sarina Russo Group actively contributes to breaking down barriers and promoting a more accessible and accepting environment for individuals with disabilities.

Additionally, SRG is dedicated in fostering inclusive employment practices. By providing equal opportunities, the group ensures that individuals with disabilities have the chance to thrive in the workforce.

Most importantly, SRG understands the importance of skills and education in empowering individuals with disabilities, we offer tailored vocational training programs. These programs aim to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen fields, breaking down educational barriers and opening doors to new opportunities.

As we celebrate International Day of People with Disability on December 3rd, Sarina Russo Group stands united with the global community in promoting inclusivity and diversity; focusing on collective action to continue its commitment to creating a world where individuals with disabilities are active participants in shaping a fair and equitable future.
